Romans 9:13: As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
For GOD to hate and individual is an amazing statement. Esau was a twin born in 1892 B.C.. Esau and his twin brother Jacob (whom GOD later names Israel) are the first set of twins recorded in the Bible. We are then told there are two manner of people that shall come forth from these twin boys. One manner of people GOD loves the other Manner of people GOD hates. The book of Malachi was written around 430 B.C. and is the closing book to the Old Testament. Listen to what GOD says in his closing remarks in the Old Testament.
Malachi 1:2-3: I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob, And I hated Esau,
God recording in his word to the Jew and the Christian that GOD himself hates an individual named Esau is to be a warning sign. We are to learn from this man Esau what we are not to do, to be, or allow in our Christian walk. As we study the blood line and spirit of Esau it becomes clear why there can never be peace in the Middle East until Messiah returns.
