The Five Foundations: Lesson Eight

This lesson covers chapters five and six in the book of Galatians. Join us as we conclude Paul’s epistle to the church in Galatia. To fully enjoy this teaching we suggest you listen to lessons 5, 6, and 7 first in our series The Five Foundations. These prior three lessons cover the first four chapters in the book of Galatians. As we walk thru our final lesson on Galatians Paul covers some very interesting topics not yet discussed. These topics include: The liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, What is the yoke of bondage, The liberty we have been called to, How does one fulfill the law by loving ones neighbor, and of course more on the role of circumcision and where Paul now stands on this doctrine. Galatians is an extremely hard book to understand until we recognize the three groups Paul is addressing in this one letter. These three groups are first heathen gentiles that have received salvation in Messiah, then a group of Jewish teachers trying to add circumcision to the message of salvation to these new gentile believers, and lastly those new gentile believers that were returning to heathen practices in life style. As with all Bible teaching, as we gain insight into another chapter of GOD’s word clarity of other portions of HIS word are seen. We have much greater understanding of the other epistles now due to our awareness of the obstacles encountered while blending Gentiles into the first century church.

The Five Foundations: Lesson Seven

A one hour teaching on the forth chapter of Galatians. Many people have been taught this chapter teaches against observing the Feast Days of the LORD. Does the Christian church today observe days, or should they observe the Feasts of the LORD. What contagious disease did Paul possible have when he first established the church in Galatia? If an Apostle is sick is it because they lack faith? Did Paul condemn the very things he condoned in his own life? Why is this forth chapter difficult to rightly divide? For the interested student of GOD’S word this chapter study could be an important piece to help one see a bigger scripture. We close this brief description on our lesson with this reassurance. Huffman Church is not a legalistic, law enforcing congregation. We invite you to read our Creed to understand our statement of faith (Click Here). We are a congregation that has been born again, seeking to know all of GOD’S word from Genesis to Revelations. We believe a great injustice has been done when one is taught against understanding the laws (instruction) of GOD. These Old Testament teachings magnify Jesus Christ, and allow us to have full understanding of his words and walk. The school master of the Old Testament also keeps our thinking in balance as we walk in the SPIRIT. If our thoughts and actions do not align with the school master, then we are not walking in the Spirit. We live in a time where there are many flavors of Christianity, and many diverse doctrines taught. Nothing better than a schoolmaster to give us clarity and insight rather than trusting our feelings alone. Are there really people brave enough to trust in eternity having never once read all of what GOD has said? Our goal is to get Christians to know all that GOD said, in the context and harmony of all sixty six books of the Bible.

The Five Foundations: Lesson Five

A one hour verse by verse teaching from the epistle of Galatians. Before you start, we advise one to listen to the first four lessons in our series: “The Five Foundations”. The book of Galatians may be one of the tougher epistles in the New Testament to digest and process. As a 21st century believer one needs some back ground of the 1st century culture and people Galatians is written to. You will be given some of this 1st century insight before embarking on a line upon line break down of Galatians. Warning!! You may nod off before the lesson turns off. On the other hand you may understand doctrinally the importance of this epistle to believers today. Galatians is the letter used by some to totally due away with Old Testament teachings. Does the subject of how law and grace work together interest you? Lesson five covers only the first two chapters of Galatians. Lesson six and seven complete the epistle. Many of us find this epistle invaluable to understand what the term “The Good News” meant to the founders of our Christian faith.
