Repentance is the first step in serving GOD. There can be no alliance with the creator until this action by man is implemented. Amazingly enough, repentance is the foundation that must be permanently laid. For continued growth in GOD and his Christ, repentance cannot be a past location we visited. It needs to become an altar of sacrifice each person has built. An altar has many purposes, and in Christianity we usually kneel as a gesture of surrender, submission and sacrifice. This correct posture can cause us to overlook the purpose of our high place (Altar), not realizing it is bringing us higher and closer to GOD. The word repent is used 116 times in scripture. Interesting the first one to use the term is GOD HIMSELF. Genesis 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
