Feast of Trumpets: Lesson Three

The next title for Rosh Hashanah we shall investigate is; THE DAY OF THE LORD. With the understanding of this term, and its associated Bible phrase; IN THAT DAY, many cloudy Bible pictures can become quit clear. These two phrases are used over one hundred times in the word of GOD. When either of these terms is used they are to transport the mind of the hearer to the last or seventh 1000 year long day of time on earth. More specifically to the first few years of that last day as the Messiah begins to cleanse the world just prior to his return. Remember Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) shall rule on earth before the Great White Throne of Judgment for 1000 years, or in GOD time, one day. This seventh day being the Sabbath of rest, after man has labored six days in GOD time or 6000 years in mans time. Thus the Day of the Lord simply refers to The last 1000 years on earth when Messiah shall reign, being The Day of the Lord, or In That Day. With this key you may now unlock many passages of scripture, with the correct understanding of what the writer was referring. Thank you LORD that you are restoring to your church that which was lost. As we begin to examine several of the multitudes of scripture passages containing these terms remember they are to transport our mind to THE DAY OF THE LORD. Now as intended these word pictures of scripture will begin to look like commercials advertising a coming attraction. Of course that attraction will start at its appointed time with opening of the gates at the sound of the shofar, Rosh Hashanah year 6001 in GOD’S calendar.

Zechariah 14:1-9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light. And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

Zephaniah 1:10-18 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills. Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off. And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil. Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof. The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers. And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung. Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

Isaiah 2:11-12 The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.  For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

Isaiah 4:1-2  And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach. In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.
