Luke 16:8  “And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light”.

It is the above scripture contained in the “Parable of the Unjust Steward” that scholars divide on the meaning of. This is the toughest parable for one to truly understand the moral of. Pay close attention as we embark upon the journey of understanding Jesus through his words.

Each story is of loss, however each story close’s with that which was lost has been found.

Whether it is a sheep, a silver coin, or especially a son, that which has been lost creates great joy at the redemption of what seemed gone. The Good Shepherd, allows us to have insight into his great mercy, and grace as he gives us a trilogy of trials which all have happy endings only due to the faithfulness of the one willing to search for that which was lost. Heavens Host actually rejoiced when you were found!

 This parable points to the question: what will one do with what one has been given?

The “Parable of One, Two, and Five Talents” is a story of what Christ expects from one given a talent by the Master. Our work is very important to the one who gave us life. We all do not have the same number of talents at our disposal.

As with most things in the Kingdom of GOD, it is not the large number which is deemed ultimately important as much as the character of that which is accomplished. In seventeen verses Jesus covers the subjects of: 

“The Time of His Return, the Reckoning of Each Servants Account, and the Fatal Flaw of Fear” holding one back from investing their talent. 

Romans 4:4  “Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt”.
