Teshuva Returning to God

Posted in Audio Lessons, Going On To Perfection

Teshuva Returning to God

Teshuva means return , We call it repentance.

Moses had to return to the top of Mount Sinai a second time for a forty day stay. This second ascent and the forty days Moses stayed with GOD are echoed when Christ begins his ministry with forty days in the wilderness. Teshuva is a forty day period each year that is strategically placed for all to be prepared for the Last Trump. This is a must hear lesson for students of the Word.

if someone commits a sin, a forbidden act, he can be forgiven for that sin if he performs teshuva, which includes:[1]

  • regretting/acknowledging the sin;
  • forsaking the sin;
  • worrying about the future consequences of the sin;
  • acting and speaking with humility;
  • acting in a way opposite to that of the sin (for example, for the sin of lying, one should speak the truth);
  • understanding the magnitude of the sin;
  • refraining from lesser sins for the purpose of safeguarding oneself against committing greater sins;
  • confessing the sin;
  • praying for atonement;
  • correcting the sin however possible;
  • pursuing works of loving kindness and truth;
  • remembering the sin for the rest of one’s life;
  • refraining from committing the same sin if the opportunity presents itself again;
  • teaching others not to sin.

Going On To Perfection: Lesson Thirty-Six

We suggest you listen to lessons 32 thru 35 before entering into this fifth teaching on the Day of Atonement. In this forty five minute audio we shall cover the High Priest’s last two of his three journeys into the Holy of Holies. Other things that will be explained: The blood of the sacrifice is applied to three objects in the temple, could these three objects represent Christ?

The number of whip like motions used to apply the blood, are these stripes representations of Messiah’s stripes? Two sacrifices blood are mixed, could this represent the deity and humanity of Messiah? Why is the blood applied in five different spots on altar of incense, could this be a picture of the five wounds Christ? (Hands, feet, and side) Several other possible pictures of Messiah appear as we walk thru the day of salvation on this Day of Atonement.

Going On To Perfection: Lesson Thirty-five

This is our forth lesson explaining the duties and rituals performed in the temple on the Day of Atonement. Each lesson is like a piece to a puzzle. The more pieces we put together the clearer our picture becomes. When we have completed each lesson of the Day of Atonement a clear picture of the atoning work of our Messiah appears. In this one hour lecture we will venture behind the veil into the Holy of  Holies for our first of three entries on this special day. Some other things that will be explained: Why the priest made whip like motions in applying the blood, what places this blood was applied, how do we see Jesus in these temple services, how did the high priest see in the darkness behind the veil. These are a few of the topics discussed in this lesson. As always it is a portion that needs to be understood before we move to the next lesson. As the high priest would lay hands on the bullock and confess his sin and Israel’s sin, the animal now became the guilty victim. GOD’S plan of a substitute for mans guilt is the reality of the Day of Atonement.

Going On To Perfection: Lesson Thirty-Four

Continuing our third lesson on the rituals in the temple on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). We will find out which of the four daily lots used to pick priests for duty promises special blessings. As we examine the twenty four courses of service for the priests a New Testament mystery will begin to be unlocked. This mystery has to do with identifying the month Jesus was born. As we ascend the outer altar with the high priest we will understand why there are three fires burning atop it. Other topics covered in this one hour audio are: What are the daily sacrifices GOD required, The hour these sacrifices were to be offered, What hour was our Lamb Jesus Crucified and the hour of his death, What must the high priest take into the Holy of Holies before he entered with the blood, and much more. Sit back, take notes, and enjoy feasting on the foundations of our faith. As always our goal in every lesson is to build our faith in GOD’s plan of redemption through the atoning work of Christ. Faith in this completed work of the Messiah is the capstone of Christian faith.

Going On To Perfection: Lesson Six

BORN AGAIN OF THE SPIRIT

 A continuation of lesson five on the immersion of the Holy Spirit.

John 3:5 : Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Many people believe and obey water baptism, but have little knowledge of the Spirit baptism Christ made available to all believers. We endeavor to give Biblical pictures from the Old and New Testament showing GOD’S plan for man to receive again what the first man Adam lost.

1 Corinthians 15:45-46: And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.  Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

This lesson will paint the picture of how GOD sees man’s first born nature, and why GOD himself sent the death angel to slay all the first born. Cain was a first born, he was the first murderer, and Esau was a first born, GOD said he hated him.

Romans 9:13 : As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

Join us as we look into the mystery of the first born and understand why Christ said: “You must be born again.”
